Classic Film Friday

TCN-Screwball-01.jpg

I'm back with a very exciting CCF post that will have you laughing all November long! Each Friday night in November, TCM will feature a Classic Screwball Comedy and their list has some of my all-time personal favorites included.

They just don't make 'em like they used to and these gems will have you laughing hard. If you're like me, you'll discover and be truly impressed with the writing and acting. I love how the women keep up with the men and have just as much sass, wit and one-liners. Some of my favorite actresses to this day star in these comedies - Katharine Hepburn, Irene Dunn, Rosalind Russell, Barbara Stanwyck - and truly show their amazing acting chops. Don't miss these performances!

Be sure to check out the full list, but here are a few of my favorites which I keep on rotation throughout the year:

My Man Godfrey (1936)
The Awful Truth (1937)
Bringing Up Baby (1938)
My Favorite Wife (1940)
His Girl Friday (1940)
Ball of Fire (1941)

Isn't laughter the best medicine?

Please do yourself a huge favor and give these classics a viewing, and don't be scared off by how old these films are. These films are one-of-a-kind incredible with zany one-liners, battle of the sexes chemistry and a real look at how talented classic film stars really were!
