Scotland 2012
I love to travel. Seeing the world is an adventure I truly live for. My soul smiles when I can immerse myself in a new culture and explore with my camera in-hand.
Edinburgh has become a second home and one of my favorite cities. Wonderful people, delicious food (yes, that's not a typo), affordable whisky, stunning architecture, beautiful scenery and great art. Edinburgh is very affordable too.
My 2012 trip brought seven days of sun (unheard of!) and a chance to see the ever-so-charming St. Andrews (Dad liked that one). My favorits: Whisky and Haggis at The Whiski, Exhibit at The Royal Gallery of Scotland, celebrating an Olympic year, walking Princes Street Garden, Oink for a delicious pork sandwich, views from the castle and St. Andrews.
Tip: Forgo the bus and walk Edinburgh to really get an idea of how well-preserved the architecture is, even in the rain. It's compact, but bring good shoes and rain gear. Have a drink at a local pub with live music and get to know the locals. Give a Haggis a chance, no really.
